Let me tell you why I named this Make SHIfT Happen.

First, the obvious: It's about making things happen. Taking action. Moving forward when you're stuck.

But look closer at how it's written: SHIfT.

That lowercase "f" is deliberate. Because let's be honest, sometimes the shift you're going through feels like complete SH!T.

The job you thought was secure? Gone.
The market you understood? Unrecognizable.
The strategy that always worked? Dead.

That's the double meaning.

You're in the middle of a shift… a career shift, a market shift, a life shift. And yeah, it might feel like sh!t right now. But that's exactly when you need someone to tell you the truth about what's happening and how to move through it.

I've been recruiting for 19 years; it’ll be 20 January 2026. I've watched economic booms and hiring freezes. I've seen companies desperate for talent one year and ghosting candidates the next. I've worked with thousands of people, from early career to the executive leadership team, and have heard every version of "I'm doing everything right, so why isn't it working?"

And here's what I realized: Most of the advice out there is garbage.

It's either too polished (sanitized corporate speak that means nothing), too generic (apply these five tips!), or completely disconnected from what's actually happening in the market right now.

So I decided to create something different.

SHIfT is real talk.

Not the kind of "real talk" where someone says something slightly edgy and then backtracks. I mean the actual truth about what I'm seeing, what companies are really looking for, why you're getting ghosted, the dismantling of DEI, workplace harassment, asking for that raise, pivoting from the old to the new, what's broken in hiring, and what you can actually do about it.

I'm not here to sugarcoat or sell you a course, at least not yet. I'm here to tell you what's working, what's not, and how to navigate this messy, chaotic job market we're all dealing with.
